Graduated from the Texas Christian University with a master’s degree in dance Served 6 years as the director of the Department of Dance, Taipei National University of the Arts and 3 years as the director of the Graduate Institute of Dance Served 26 years full-time and 3 years part-time in the School of Dance, Taipei National University of the Arts, and now retired Selected as the 2007-2008 outstanding teacher of Taipei National University of the Arts Hired as a guest teacher by the Dance School, Shanghai Theatre Academy during 2017-2019 As one of the founding members of the Cloud Gate Theater, collaborated with the Theater for 16 years as the main dancer, choreographer, rehearsal director, and director of the dance class and were involved in over 500 domestic and foreign performances of the Theater, in well-known dance pieces including self-choreographed and self-performed “Red Kerchief” and “The Tale of the White Serpent” as the green serpent and white serpent, and “Landscape”, “Cloud”, “Nirvana”, “The Dream of the Red Chamber”, and “Passacaglia in A Major” as the main characters.
After the Cloud Gate Theater came back in 1991, invited 5 times by the Theater to serve as the guest dancer, reproduce and rehearse dance pieces such as “Nirvana”, “Cloud”, and “Legacy”, and host the Dance Workshops for Cloud Game Friends over the years, and choreographed dance pieces including “Red Kerchief”, “Candle”, “Cape”, “Morning Play”, “Fly in Sky”, “Combination - Pregnancy”, “Spiritualization”, “Turn”, and “Celebration”. Received the Chinese Literary Award in 1991, studied in New York and participated in the dance festival in the US and the New York Nias Dance Studio summer camp on scholarships provided by the Cloud Gate Theater and foreign institutions, served 1 year as an assistant professor in the Department of Dance, University of Nevada, worked as a guest lecturer 3 times in University of Colorado and Beijing Dance Academy, and served as a guest lecturer in Texas Christian University, USA, Purchase College, New York, University of Wisconsin, Edith Cowan University, West Australia, Burapha University, Thailand, and Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, Japan, and a lecturer in the 2013 Northeastern University Dance Festival, USA. Involved in the foundation of the Taipei Crossover Dance Company in 1994 and performed with the Company until 2010 in about 100 domestic and foreign performances during the 15 years, served as the producer and rehearsal director of the joint performance of “Legacy” by Hwai-min Lin in Germany in 2002 for four large universities around the world, served as a member of the international dance forum planning committee in 2004, and participated in the planning of the International Dance Elite Academy by Taipei National University of the Arts and served as the class director for years. Started to learn from the creator of Taiching Dowing, master Xiong Wei, since February, 1999, and began to teach Taiching Dowing classes in School of Dance, Taipei National University of the Arts since September, 2002 with the recommendation from master Xiong Weiw.
